The SeaNet management trainee will be trained in all areas of the company with the intention to become responsible for managing the commercial growth of LISCR’s audit and inspection programs, as well as working on the development and sales of new maritime products and services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Train in all core areas of company, including business development, maritime operations, seafarer certification, corporate, ship registrations and business functions of regional offices.
  • Become proficient in the global shipping industry, trends in the shipping market and learning all the major players;
  • Marketing and commercial growth of Liberia’s harmonized ISM/ISPS audit and MLC inspection programs worldwide;
  • Marketing and commercial growth of SeaNet and LISCR products; including internal audits, e-ORB, Subchapter M inspections, Panama Canal SOPEP, CBTs and EU MRV program;
  • Evaluate needs of clients to develop new SeaNet and LISCR products and services; and
  • Performs other duties and projects as required.
RequirementsGeneral Qualification Guidelines:

Experience, Education and Certification

  • Bachelor of Science or advanced degree in Maritime Transportation or Engineering, Maritime Law, or close equivalent (required)
  • Licensed deck or engine officer (preferred)
  • Previous experience in sales or entrepreneurship (preferred)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge and understanding of maritime law & regulations, including: SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, the ISM and ISPS Codes, and MLC
  • Expert knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Well developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Able to lift approximately 15 – 20 lbs
