DP World Group Chairman and CEO Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem and Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk have discussed the potential uses of Tesla technology for DP World’s global operations.

Topics revolved around the use of Tesla battery solutions
for renewable energy storage in the global operator’s ports and terminals in
the fast-growing markets of Africa, India and Latin America.

Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, CEO and DP World Group Chairman, said:
“Our visionary leadership has taught us to anticipate change and this is what
has led to our success as well as the rapid development of the UAE into the
global business hub that it is today.”

“Mr Musk is at the forefront of enabling sustainable
transport and energy use solutions, which is integral to our goal of protecting
our environment and building a vibrant and resilient society.”

Mr Bin Sulayem is now also exploring possible
implementations of Tesla’s state-of-the-art technology to further enhance what
he calls DP World’s impact on global trade.

DP World’s Rotterdam World Gateway is already employing
driverless cars at its terminal, while several other DP World operations are in
the process of implementing the new technology.

Rather fittingly, Tesla has taken the strategic decision to
set up its regional headquarters in Dubai, which was also announced at the
Summit.

Tesla’s mission is to accelerate the world’s transition to
sustainable energy through increasingly affordable electric vehicles.
